This was a picture of my son and daughter, shot in a restaurant with a very ugly background. Auto mode; 35mm lens; exp 1/60; f/4.2; ISO 400; flash. Same photo, cropped in, levels adjusted, saturation added, some sharpening. I cloned out some red irritation in the corner of my son's eye. Then I edited in a different restaurant's background. Do you think a less "noisy" , plain background would look better? Scott and Dianna think this is a bad thing to do, like messing with reality since only Scott was at the 2nd restaurant.

Wow! Cropping made a huge difference. :). Toni
It's a cool technique! The cropping of the two kids make them look almost 3D on the new BG
aww!
great crop!
looks great!

Very cool! great job!

Hey, if you can't change reality in photoshop when CAN you?! Cool technique!
Great job! You really rocked the PS on this one.
Hey is this the rainforest cafe? Looks like a jungle in there. ;)
How cool, love how you changed the background!!
I like the cropping, but think the background is a little bit busy. Actually, I had no idea you could change an entire background!!
I like the crop. I'm kinda with them, though- I really don't care for cutting and pasting into different backgrounds. The rest of your editting is good work- they look great!
Great looking kids :) I really like the crop and the finished product looks great!
I am amazed that you could change a whole background! Very cool! Maybe you should really have some fun with them and paste them somewhere really outlandish!
nice crop!
nice job on the crop!
Good job changing the background, but if you cropped the first one to a similiar size as the second one i think you would loose most of the ugly background.
I actually like the original better, but think it would look good with the crop you did in the second one.
ps'd one looks good!
the cropping really makes the picture. Not so sure about the background. You can see the lines around your dd. Maybe smudging her on the edges.
Nice job on the crop.
cute picture. the crop looks really good but i would suggest cloning out the distracting stuff in the white background..i don't think the white is all the bad after the crop.
